WHAT THIS IS
Air-frame poles. Double-wall canopy. Three view doors.
An air shelter is a tent that replaces rigid poles with inflatable air beams for its perimeter structure. The Gopamir G450 uses a hexagonal layout: an air beam runs the perimeter, three Ø12 mm (0.47 in) carbon reach poles brace the sides, and one Ø16 mm (0.63 in) carbon center pole locks the canopy.
The 450 × 380 cm (177.2 × 149.6 in) hexagonal footprint sleeps two to three people with full standing height at 250 cm (98.4 in) peak and 235 cm (92.5 in) at the side wall.
Double-wall construction — silicone-coated 40D nylon main skin under a separate silicone+PU rain fly — manages rain and condensation through Canadian summers and Korean-style winter camping.
WHY THIS DESIGN
Three close-ups of the frame, the canopy, and the doors.
One Ø16 mm carbon center pole. Three Ø12 mm carbon reach poles. One inflatable perimeter beam. The hybrid frame stays rigid in wind without the bulk of a full pole bundle.
40D nylon main canopy under a separate rain fly. The gap reduces condensation in cold weather and adds a second water barrier in heavy rain.
Each of three doors uses 4-way zipper sliders. Swap the mesh insert for a TPU window panel (sold separately) when the weather turns.
450 × 380 cm (177.2 × 149.6 in) hexagonal footprint.
Three oval mesh-backed vent ports across the upper canopy let warm air escape while keeping rain and bugs out. Close them by zipper when temperatures drop in winter camping.
Each section of the perimeter air beam connects through a sealed valve. Disconnect one segment for field repair without losing pressure in the rest of the frame.
Spare-pole kit (Duralumin A7001-T6, Ø13 mm × 140 cm / Ø0.51 in × 55.1 in) plus 12 A7075-T6 pegs (Ø9 mm × 22 cm / Ø0.35 in × 8.7 in) and reflective guy lines ship standard — field replacement without a store run.
HOW IT WORKS
From the packsack on your back to a pitched shelter in three steps.
STEP 1 OF 3
Pull out the shelter, stake the hexagonal footprint corners with the 12 included Ø9 mm (0.35 in) duralumin pegs.
STEP 2 OF 3
Use the included hand pump or the PM800 electric pump (sold separately). The pressure-relief valve self-vents above 7 psi to prevent over-inflation, so you can pump confidently.
STEP 3 OF 3
Slot the Ø16 mm center pole into its webbing seat, then place the three Ø12 mm reach poles. Tension the reflective guy lines — they catch headlamp light so you can re-tension after dark.
STEP 4 OF 4
Plant the three Ø12 mm reach poles at the corners. Peg the 12 reflective guylines. Total setup time runs around 8–12 minutes solo.
STEP 4 OF 4
Plant the three Ø12 mm reach poles at the corners. Peg the 12 reflective guylines. Total setup time runs around 8–12 minutes solo.
HOW IT STANDS UP
Inflated frame for everyday pitch — duralumin backup pole already in the box.
Manual pump to 7–8 psi · carbon reach poles brace the canopy · relief valve self-vents above 7 psi
Duralumin A7001-T6 backup pole holds the canopy if an air beam is punctured · ships in every G450 box
The spare pole ships with every G450. No air beam stays down for the night.

Advanced details
Air beams can be inflated independently or interconnected through the air-lock valve, so a single puncture does not deflate the whole perimeter.
Double-stitched waterproof seams. No seam tape is applied because the 40D nylon is silicone-coated on both sides (tape will not bond to silicone). For sustained heavy rain, apply silicone seam sealer to high-stress points.
Center pole: carbon · Ø16 mm (0.63 in). Reach poles: carbon · Ø12 mm × 3 pcs (0.47 in). Spare-pole kit: Duralumin A7001-T6 · Ø13 mm × 140 cm (0.51 in × 55.1 in) × 1 set. Pegs: Duralumin A7075-T6 · Ø9 mm × 22 cm × 12 pcs (0.35 in × 8.7 in).
Spare-pole kit ships with every shelter for immediate field replacement. Manufacturer defect coverage runs one year from delivery on air beam, fabric seams, and hardware. Replacement parts (pegs, guy lines, patch kits) available through BigTent customer service.
What to know before buying
Read these once and you will know whether the G450 fits your trip.
This shelter IS
An inflatable 4-season hexagonal shelter for 2–3 people. 450 × 380 cm footprint, 250 cm peak. Air beam plus carbon center and reach poles. Double-wall canopy with separate rain fly.
This shelter is NOT
A single-skin festival tent, a backpacking solo tent, or a 5+ person family base. Not seam-taped — uses two-sided silicone coating instead. For prolonged heavy rain, apply seam sealer to high-stress points.
Setup learning curve
First pitch takes 15–20 minutes while you learn the air-beam inflation rhythm and pole insertion order. After 2–3 setups, under 10 minutes for one person.
Gopamir G450 accessory line
Compatible with Gopamir G450 ground sheet, inner liner, guy webbing, vestibule extension, vestibule TPU door, and the PM800 electric pump. TPU window panels swap into the door zipper system.
Weight & wind
21 kg / 46.3 lb full kit — splittable between two people for trail approach. The air beam plus carbon poles holds shape in sustained wind; in gusts, use all reflective guy lines.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
Answers to what people ask before buying their first air-frame shelter.
An air shelter uses inflatable air beams instead of rigid poles for the perimeter structure. The G450 combines an air beam with carbon center and reach poles — faster setup than a full pole bundle, more rigid than a pure air-only shelter.
15–20 minutes for first-time users. After 2–3 setups, one person can pitch it in under 10 minutes. Use the included hand pump or the PM800 electric pump (sold separately).
Yes. The 40D nylon canopy is silicone-coated on both sides with 3,000 mm hydrostatic head; the separate rain fly adds 4,000 mm. Use it from summer through winter camping — for sustained heavy rain or driving snow, apply seam sealer to high-stress seams.
The G450 ships with a Duralumin A7001-T6 spare-pole kit (Ø13 mm × 140 cm / 0.51 in × 55.1 in) for field replacement. Patch kits for the air beam are standard repair items — request from BigTent customer service.
Yes. The 450 × 380 cm (177.2 × 149.6 in) hexagonal footprint plus 250 cm (98.4 in) peak and 235 cm (92.5 in) side wall holds two sleeping pads, gear bins, and full standing room. Three people fits if you stage gear in the vestibule extension (sold separately).
No. The shelter ships with three mesh door panels installed. TPU window panels are sold separately — they swap into the same 4-way zipper system, so you can change panels by weather without re-pitching.
It self-vents above 7 psi to prevent over-inflation. You can pump the air beam to firm pressure without monitoring the gauge — the valve releases excess before it stresses the seams.
BigTent stocks Gopamir spare parts: A7075-T6 pegs, reflective guy line, and the spare-pole kit. Request through customer service — covered for the first year if a part fails under normal use.
No — the G450 uses silicone-coated fabric on both faces instead of seam tape. Tape will not bond to silicone, which is why the rest of the silicone-coated shelter category skips it too. If a seam develops a leak after extended use, a silicone seam sealer restores waterproofing.
FROM THE CURATOR
Why the G450 made the BigTent curation cut.
" The hex-air-shelter category has been growing in Korea for five years, and Gopamir is the line that survived the shake-out. The G450 sits in the sweet spot: small enough to pitch by one person, large enough to live in for a long weekend. We chose it as the curation-depth pick because the spec sheet — 3,000 mm canopy under a 4,000 mm fly, A7001-T6 spare-pole kit included, six interior pockets — reads like a Korean winter camper actually used it.
